BSYCS have dedicated an enormous amount of time & energy in trying to engage marginalized youths from the Somali community into the mainstream services, however the fact still remain that take up of opportunities & participation in wider community activities are not forthcoming.
We conducted a mapping exercise to obtain information on what are the identified needs of the client group & the findings are as follows:
* Lack of awareness from service providers of the diverse needs of clients.
* The lack of opportunity to showcase their talents.
* The importance of developing & sustaining their cultural values & way of life.
* Development of a Somali youth forum.
